Returning to God
God loves for people to return to Him. He does not beat them up when they return. He welcomes them and restores them. Evil King Manasseh is a great example of God's heart for those who return.(II Chronicles 33:12,13) I have met people who thought they had messed up too badly for God to forgive them. Nothing could be farther from the truth. God is a restoration specialist.
No one sinned worse than King Manasseh. We have a hard time understanding why he was so sinful, because his father, Hezekiah, was so righteous most of his life. However, the truth is that Manasseh committed horrible sins. That did not keep God from hearing Him. God was waiting to hear that humble prayer. He gladly restored the kingdom to this repentant sinner.
We have all sinned. We have all failed God. The difference is that some of us admit our pride and sins to God, and we seek to return to Him and be forgiven. When we do that, He hears and forgives. Others miss out, because they tell themselves that God would not want them back. Please, do not let that happen to you. Try Him out like Manasseh did, and experience the true love of God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 34-36 and Ezra 1.
