Giving God Credit

Often, we tend to try to do things ourselves without asking God for help. That is always a bad decision. The story of Abraham sending his servant to find the right wife for his son, Isaac, shows us what God can do if we trust Him to show us what to do. The servant found God's choice for Isaac's wife in record time. Then, he stopped to worship God and give Him all the credit for leading him in mercy and in truth.(Genesis 24:27) May we all learn to do the same thing every day.

God never forsakes His mercy toward those who are seeking Him. Abraham was seeking God for the right wife for Isaac. The servant was seeking God's will to carry out Abraham's wishes. God was merciful to them both. God always provides the truth for those who are seeking Him, too. He lights our way. If we follow Jesus, the Truth, the Bible, the Word of Truth, and the Holy Spirit of Truth, we can know the truth. God's truth will direct us to His blessings. Then, once we receive the mercy and truth from the Lord, we worship Him, giving Him all the credit for what He has done.

I pray this will be the pattern for our lives every day, not just when we have a problem. We need the Lord's direction every day in everything. Then, we need to give Him credit for what He does every day. We need to worship Him constantly.
