Jesus, the Living Lord and Savior
Jesus is alive! That is what the angels told the ladies who came to the tomb on that resurrection morning. They were afraid and amazed, but they remembered the words He had spoken to them about His death and resurrection.(Luke 24:5-7) All of Christianity rests on the Living Christ, because it is not a religion, but a relationship with Him.
When the angel said, "He is not here, but is risen," we must understand just what he was conveying to the ladies. The verb tense means that Jesus had risen from the dead, and the effects of that resurrection remained until that time. The same is true today. Jesus is still alive, and because of His death, burial, and resurrection, anyone who trusts Him as Lord, can be cleansed from their sins, because of the perfect sacrifice of the sinless, Son of God.
John 1 tells us that Jesus always has been alive. He is God. He is life. He came to earth, so that we might have life. However, our sins had separated us from God and from life, so He had to pay the price for our sins and the sins of the whole world by giving His life for us. Then, He opened the way of salvation to all who believe in Him as Lord. He is the One and Only Living Lord and Savior! He is waiting for you to confess Him as Lord and to receive adoption into His family.(John 1:12) Then, we have a relationship with Jesus forever.
Tomorrow, I intend to read John 2-4.
