Words Matter to God
Our words show God what is in our hearts. He listens to them, and He responds when our words are sincere, and we humbly trust Him to show us the way in life.(Daniel 10:12) Daniel's prayer is a great example of this. He was quick to confess the sins of his people, even though he was not guilty of those things himself. He was very sincere in desiring to know God's will and to understand the visions God was giving him. Therefore, the angel was dispatched to give him that understanding because of his words.
We need to remember this truth and apply it on a daily basis. We must not rush through our prayers and blurt out general requests and thanksgivings to the Lord. Our words matter to God. Therefore, we need to get our hearts right and then, use our words to express the desires of our hearts to Him, knowing He will hear and answer as we sincerely trust Him and want to find the truth in any area.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Daniel 11-12 and Hosea 1.
