Rejecting Knowledge

I believe there is a general rejection of knowledge in the United States. People do not know what to believe because they are skeptical of the information they read and see, so they tend not to seek out knowledge, but to live by feelings. Also, there is a rejection of knowledge among God's people. They know less and less about God's Word, and this leads to all kinds of problems. Since they are rejecting this knowledge provided by God, He is rejecting them, as He did in Hosea's day.(Hosea 4:6)

God has been so good to us by giving us His Word. All 66 books were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and they have been preserved for us, so that we could have the specific revelation of God in our hands.(II Timothy 3:16,17) This knowledge He has given us is all we need to know Him personally by knowing Christ and to live life by His design. Think of how it makes God feel when we neglect to read, study, and memorize His Word as He has commanded us. When we reject knowledge, He will not force it upon us, and He will not automatically cause us to understand His will and His way. We can't help other people come to the Lord or help them with their needs in the right way, because we do not have the knowledge to do that. God lets us try to do it on our own and to raise our children on our own, so that perhaps we will come to our senses and see that we need Him and all of the knowledge He has provided.

Please, don't be too busy to learn God's Word. Don't reject knowledge and especially, don't reject God's Word. The rejection of knowledge leads to sin and destruction.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Hosea 5-7.
