Real Satisfaction
Satisfaction in life eludes many people. They try to gain satisfaction in every way imaginable, and it never comes. All the while the Lord is trying to get their attention to show them how to be really satisfied.
I see it every day. I am sure you do, too. People think they need a drug to give them a high or to make them forget, Others think they need just a little something to give them a lift, just enough energy to get through their day. Then, there is the wife or husband who thinks that they can't be satisfied until they get a new spouse. They finally accomplish their goal, and things are not that much better. Sometimes, they are worse than ever. Some people eat for pleasure. They eat and eat, but they are never satisfied for very long. Of course, there are multitudes who think sex is the answer to being satisfied. However, it never brings the desired result, if that is why they are having sex.
Why can't people find satisfaction? They are trying to satisfy the flesh, the human desires and hungers, by using temporary things. Each time they try to fill the need, it is only temporary. The only way to find real satisfaction is from an eternal spiritual source, the Lord Jesus. Now before you turn me off, think about this. He is the Creator of love, peace, and joy. He can apply it to your heart. However, it comes from a daily relationship with Him. Knowing Jesus in a personal way is the source of satisfaction, because He can and will meet every need and desire in the right way, the lasting way.
This is not just preacher talk. This is the truth. Nothing satisfies like walking with Jesus every day, letting Him meet our needs. Yes, we still need people and things in our lives, but we do not depend on them for our satisfaction. Those people and things become a part of our life, but they are not our life. Jesus is the source of life and satisfaction. Give Him a chance. You will not be sorry; you will find real satisfaction.
