Jesus is Lord and Friend
As Christians, we have a wonderful life. Jesus is our Lord, so we are to serve Him faithfully as His slave. However, Jesus is our Friend, so He lets us know what the Father is doing.(John 15:15) This way our slavery is not bondage, but He sets us free to live the abundant life He planned for us.
The key to freedom is our relationship with Jesus. In realty, every human is in subjection to something or someone. No one is totally free. The only way to have full freedom is to submit to Jesus as our Lord and serve Him. Then, He sets us free from sin and everything else that would bind us. When He sets us free, we are free indeed. We are not free to do what we want. That leads to all kinds of bondage because of our lack of knowledge and power. We are free to do His will, which is freeing. When we live in His truth, He sets us free.
I pray that everyone would come to see how Jesus is both Lord and Friend. When we know Him we are related to the King of the universe, and He wants to relate to us as a friend. What a blessing.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 22-24.
