Hearing God's Voice
There is no doubt that the All-Powerful God, who created the universe, is able to speak to humans any time He desires to do so. However, are we able to hear Him? What I mean is this, "Are we willing to trust Him to speak to us so much that we seek His will and sit and listen for what He has to say?" He may be speaking to us, but we don't hear Him, if we are not ready.
It really helps if we do several things in preparation. When we submit to the Holy Spirit's as Lord of our lives and ask Him to control us, He speaks more loudly than before when our flesh was in control. Then, if we ask God specific questions, He is able to answer those questions in a specific way. Finally, we have to listen in quietness of soul for that still, small voice. We will hear Him, and the more we hear Him, the easier it will be to discern His voice the next time.
I challenge all of us to make these preparations, so we can relate to the Most High God on a very personal level, which is what He desires to do for us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 17-19.
