Communicating God's Word
Communication is a rather complex process. Some people are very gifted communicators, but they are in the minority. Most folks have a hard time getting their message across. That goes for people who try to communicate God's Word to others, too.
Think about it. Communication takes place when you are able to take a thought from your mind and put it into words, so that it reaches the ears of another person and reaches their brain with the same meaning as the thought you had in your mind. Then, when you add in God's Word, there is another factor. You have to know what God meant by His Word, because you have been led to the truth by the Holy Spirit, and then, you communicate that truth to another individual. It is vital that we get this right, because it is His truth, but it is our responsibility to share it with others in the right way.
I like what John McArthur said about this. He said that we are not chefs to cook up a good original message to deliver to people. We are the waiters, and we want to get His message from His Word to the table without messing it up. I pray that is what we all are trying to do as we communicate God's Word to those around us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ephesians 4-6.
