Seeing the Multitudes
What is your reaction when you see the condition of the majority of the people in our world? Does it make you angry or sad? I hope we will all have the same reaction that Jesus had when He saw the multitudes. (Mark 6:34) He was moved with compassion. He sensed their need for direction, so He taught them many things. We should ask the Spirit to give us that heart of compassion and to enable us to show them God's way.
We are to be the salt of the earth. That means that we are to preserve the truth and to make the people around us hungry for it. We are not to berate them and turn them off. Also, we are the light of the world, which means that we are to reveal the truth to the people who are in darkness. They do not know they are in darkness until we make it manifest by our words and actions.
We, as believers, have a huge responsibility. We will never carry it out until we have the compassion of Jesus for everyone around us. Love is the key that opens the door.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Mark 8-10.
