Humility

Humility is the one thing that when you think you have it, you aren't quite there. Not to say that you can't seek to be humble and obtain it. That is a good thing. However, you can be proud of your humility, and that is a bad thing.

Humility is not thinking of yourself in a lowly manner. It is not putting yourself down. Humility is having a realistic view of your ability and knowing that everything you have came from God. It is being assured that without the gifts and abilities He gave you, there would be nothing you could do. Humility is giving Him all the credit.

Humble people accomplish more than proud people, because they do not care about receiving a reward. They want to be faithful and do the loving thing. Moses was the most humble man in the Bible, but he led the Israelites through the most difficult times. He was not a tyrant. He was a servant of God, and he depended on Him.

Please, don't buy into the philosophy of this world that only proud, self-confident people get things done. Yes, they accomplish things, but often, they are the things that don't make as much eternal difference as the things done by the humble people.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Mark 11-14.
