God of All Comfort
Life is not fair, but God is good. There are some things in life which we will never understand fully, but we can know that God is in control. God knows our pain, and it grieves Him to see us hurt. All of these statements are true. We can know them and still suffer great pain in this life. At times our only comfort comes from the God of all comfort. He is the only One who can know what we feel and the comfort we need.
My heart goes out to people who suffer. I pray for them to receive the comfort of our loving Lord in abundance. Today, as I heard about Tim and Marvine Decker's loss, my heart sunk. They have already been through so much, and now this. I know they will reach out to the Lord and fall into His arms. Also, I know our church family will lift them up in prayer. In the end they will come out stronger, but the grief process is real, and it will take some time. However, God is always faithful to provide for His children.
Think about the Father as He watched Jesus die on the Cross. His heart was broken to see Him suffer. He knew it was necessary, but it did not ease His pain. Now, He sees us, and He knows our pain. He knows just what to do for us. He will give us every kind of comfort we need in every situation. One day we will be able to look back, and see what He has taught us. We will see how we are better, because of how He led us through and how we know Him better.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Nehemiah 13 and Esther 1-2.
