Becoming a Movement

There are many "movements" in the world all of the time. We hear about the Civil Rights Movement, the Conservative Movement, and the Abortion Rights Movement to name just a few. From what you know about movements, how would you define a movement?

I would define a movement as a group of people who are committed to enlisting as many people as possible to believe the same thing they believe and to accomplish the goals they hold dear. Movements grow quickly. They are spread by the passion of the people for their beliefs. They are not so organized in the beginning. They catch on because the members are so tireless in their efforts to spread the news of their way of thinking.

I have come to the conclusion from my reading that we must regain that concept for the church. We as believers must be so passionate about Christ and seeing people come to Christ that we create a Jesus Movement. That is the only hope for the world. If we go on like it is now, the world for the most part will die and go to Hell without Jesus. However, if we see our mission to start a Jesus Movement and give ourselves to that cause, there is a chance for the world.

I am afraid most Christians are too lazy and comfortable for this truth. What about you? Will you join the Jesus Movement and enlist as many people to His cause as possible? Will you give it all of your loyalty, to know Him and to make Him known? I pray that we will see a movement started at NHBC and in our world for the sake of billions of eternal souls.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 8-10 and mark 11:19-33.
