The Shepherd is with Us
This afternoon, I was reading some more in the book John gave me. I am finally reaching the end of the book. There was a great explanation of why we, as believers, do not need to fear anything Satan can throw at us. The reason is that we have the Shepherd with us all of the time. Yes, we are just sheep, but Jesus is all powerful, and He has all authority, so there is no situation He can't handle for us. All we have to do is trust Him.
The author gave the illustration of a little boy running into a bully. At the same time his much older big brother comes up behind the bully. The little boy has no reason to fear the bully, because he knows His brother will protect Him easily from the bully. What a great analogy! It is not because we are strong that we can defeat Satan and his accomplices. It is because Jesus is with us all the way. (Matthew 28:19-29) That is how we must begin to look at life, so we can go behind Satan's lines and rescue those are trapped in sin. When we do that, Jesus will be there, because He gave the command to go and make disciples.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Nehemiah 1-3 and Acts 2:1-21.
