Impossible?
Impossible is an important word to the Christian faith. How we look at the impossibility of certain things determines at lot about how we live. What kinds of things do you consider impossible?
Some Christians think it is impossible to become like Jesus. We read in God's Word that we are to become conformed to the image of Christ, but many consider that impossible. Can a person become like Christ if that is their way of thinking? I don't think so. In order to be like Jesus, one thing we have to do is to realize that it is not impossible. Anything God commands us to do is possible with His help.
Other things in life are clearly impossible to humans. Healing certain cancers, overcoming certain enemies, and reaching some financial goals are impossible for us. However, they are not impossible for God. He wants us to trust Him to do the impossible in those situations. Then, He will act based on our faith in Him. However, if we think the impossible is truly impossible, we will not really put our faith in the Lord to do it. Then, it won't happen.
See what I mean. Impossible is a very important word for me, if I am going to live the Christian life. I pray that all of us will have the right view of what is possible with the help of God in our lives, because we all need impossible things to happen sometimes, and we all need to become like Jesus.
