June 21 - Psalms 120-125
I hope you have real peace in your heart today. Peace comes from the Lord. He wants to bring you to the place where you have His peace all the time. These psalms speak of God's peace for individuals and for Jerusalem. Can you relate to these psalms? Have you ever had a person or persons around you who only wanted strife instead of peace? (Psalm 120) That is difficult, but God is there to deliver you from that strife. Let Him show you what to do, or let Him take care of those deceitful people. He will give you His peace.
Do you know that you can be secure in the Lord, because He is your Keeper, and He never sleeps? (Psalm 121) I hope you can rest in Him, because you know He never rests. Maybe, there is a proud person who holds you in contempt. Don't let that person rob you of peace. (Psalm 123) Know that God is there to deliver you, and He surrounds you. What a picture of the love and protection of God. (Psalms 124, 125)
Psalm 122 commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. For hundreds and thousands of years Satan has sought to destroy God's chosen people, the Jews. We need to support them in prayer. The Bible tells us that God will bless those who bless them, so we must pray and act to stand with God's chosen people and Jerusalem. This does not mean that the Jews are all saved now. Without Christ, they are lost, but they are still precious to God, and Jesus is still coming back to reign from Jerusalem. We need to be praying for all of God's plan for the Jews, for their salvation, and for the peace of Jerusalem.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 126-130.
