Cleansed by the Blood
There are some people today who go to church, but they don't want to talk about the blood. They do not think that it is important for us to talk about the blood. Either they don't understand the Bible, or they are rejecting what the Bible says. The truth is that we must talk about the blood. It is the key to our cleansing from our sins. Without the blood, we are lost and hopeless forever.
Ezekiel was shown all of the details of the Millennial Temple. He was also shown how the items in the temple were to be cleansed. (Ezekiel 43:20) He told them to take some of the blood of the goat that was sacrificed and put it on the four horns of the altar, the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim around it. This would cleanse it and make atonement for it. This might seem a strange way to cleanse something until we understand the significance of the blood.
Sin has infected everything in the world since Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. God hates sin, because He is holy, without any sin, and He knows the wages of sin is death for anyone who sins. He loves us all, and He wants to forgive us our sins, but there is only one way for Him to do that since He is holy. He can't take sin lightly. He had to pay the ultimate price for our sins and die in our place. That is what Jesus did by shedding His blood and dying in our place. His blood was given to cleanse us.
God would not be holy if He forgave sin without totally paying for it. That is justice. The Bible says that the life is in the blood. In the Old Covenant the blood of animals cleansed things and people from sins, but it was only effective because it pointed to Jesus's blood being shed. Now, we can have the blood applied to our sins, by turning from our sins, trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing in His death and resurrection. The perfect blood of Jesus was God's payment for us to be cleansed. Please, trust Him today, if you haven't taken that step.
