Regular Corporate Worship

Corporate worship is good for us. This type of worship is when we gather together with other believers to give God the honor and glory He deserves, and to show everyone how worthy He is in every area. Yes, we can worship by ourselves, at home or in nature, but it is qualitatively less powerful than worshiping in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. That is why we need regular corporate worship. We need the full force of worship to help us be faithful and grow in the Lord.

Ezekiel was not only shown the Millennial Temple, he was shown how the people were to worship the Lord when that time comes. God gave him the details for the leaders to follow, and He told them the sacrifices to make. (Ezekiel 46:3) God said that the people were to worship at the entrance to the gateway before the Lord on the Sabbaths and the new Moons.  Therefore, it was God's command that the people worship every week and have a special service at the time of the new moon. I believe that is regular worship, don't you?

When God created the universe, He rested on the seventh day of the week after creating everything in six days. Did God get tired? No, of course not. God rested from His work of creating to show us what we need to do each week. He knew that we would get tired of our regular work, and we would need to stop to focus on Him each week, or we would drift away from Him. I wonder how many of you have had that happen to you? You have been living without the power of weekly worship, and by now you don't even remember what you are missing, because it has been so long.

I want to urge all of us to get back to regular corporate worship and see how much God will bless us in that. Of course, we need more than just one service a week. We need other times that we get together with our brothers and sisters in Christ to pray and worship the Lord, while encouraging each other. When we do those two things, our faith will be stronger, our lives will be better, and we have the life the Lord intended for us. Please, have personal worship of the Lord every day, but do not neglect to have regular corporate worship, also.
