God-Sent Prophets
God is not in the habit of hiding His will from anyone. In fact, it is just the opposite. God is in the business of revealing Himself and His will to everyone. He wants us to know Him, walk with Him closely each day, and do His will, so our lives will go as He designed them to go. If we do not know the Lord and follow Him, things go badly. That is why God sends prophets to bring us back to Him.
When the people of Judah would get off track and start worshiping idols, God would send prophets to them. God was actually very patient with them and sent many prophets. (II Chronicles 24:19) He sent the prophets to bring them back to Himself, instead of worshiping idols. The prophets would testify against them, showing them their sins, but they would not listen most of the time. I pray we won't let this happen to us.
God gives us people to be His prophets today. They have a very special way of showing us where we have gone wrong. They are very direct, and what they say is always right according to God's Word. When they tell us what will happen in the future, it always happens, exactly as they said it would. Then, once they lay out the case against us, we have to choose to listen to the word of the Lord they have shared. If we don't, God will punish us severely.
At the same time we need to be aware that there have always been many false prophets, because Satan likes to counterfeit the work of God. Since God sends prophets, the devil sends his prophets to lead us in the wrong way. His prophets may be very good speakers, and what they say may be what we want to hear, but they are not right according to God's Word, and what they say will happen, doesn't always happen. We must be very discerning by the power of the Spirit to only listen to God-sent prophets, not the false ones.
