God's Assurance of Victory
I am pretty sure that most of us have insurance for our houses and vehicles. We pay for insurance because we don't know what will happen in the future. The insurance company promises to stand behind us if we have a loss and help pay for repairs or replacement. It is good to have insurance, but it is even better to have assurance that everything will be alright.
At times God gives us His assurance that we will be alright, even though we face an enemy or a very difficult situation. He gave Moses this assurance about defeating their enemy. (Numbers 21:34) God told Moses not to fear King Og, because He had delivered him into his hand with all his people and his land, just like He helped them defeat Sihon king of the Amorites. This should give us great hope.
When God assures us of victory, we do not need to fear anything. As Christians, He has assured us of His presence going with us all of the time. He has assured us of our home in heaven. We know that nothing will happen to us that He doesn't allow, and we will be able to handle it with His power. He gives us His deliverance in advance because He can guarantee it.
Then, we should always be assured of God's victory as we look back at the times He has given us the victory in our past. As long as we are trusting Him and following His directions for our lives, He is there for us, and He will lead us each step of the way. The more these victories add up, the more we should live with assurance instead of uncertainty.
