Clinging to the Lord

Some things in life are worth clinging to with all of our being. When we get married, we should be so committed to our marriage that we cling to our spouse, as the Lord tells us to do. We should be willing to cling to our brothers and sisters in Christ, so that we have true fellowship with them. However, the Lord is the main One to whom we need to cling.

Hezekiah had that kind of tenacity in His relationship with the Lord. (II Kings 18:6) He clung to the Lord, and he did not desist from following Him, but he kept His commandments which He had commanded Moses. That is the kind of commitment to the Lord that we all need to have.

We live in a very unrighteous world to say the least. There are all kinds of temptations around us. We have every opportunity to disobey the Lord and drift away from Him. We must not allow the drift, but we must cling to the Lord with all of our heart, mind, and strength. He is worth all of the effort it takes to remain faithful.

Others will try to convince us that following Jesus is too restrictive. They will tell us that we are missing out on so much fun. We must not fail to follow the Lord every step of every day. We do this by loving Him, and when we love Him, we will keep His commandments in love. Clinging to the Lord is the path to a wonderful life.
