Abraham Believed

None of us are perfect. We make mistakes, plenty of them. I get frustrated when I get in a hurry and make a mistake. It happens all the time, so I am trying to slow down. Also, we all sin. We go against what God has said, or we simply fail to do exactly what God told us to do. This is why we all need to fully depend on God all of the time.

Abraham was not perfect, but he believed God when He told him something. He even trusted God when he did not understand why God asked him to do something or how it was going to work out. (Genesis 22:8) As Abraham and his son, Isaac, walked to the mountain where God told Abraham to sacrifice his son as a burnt offering, Isaac asked his father where was the lamb for the sacrifice. Abraham replied, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." That was how much faith he had in God.

Sometimes, God asks us to do things that we can't understand. They may even seem opposite to what we would think is the right thing to do. We are not to question God, but to believe Him. That is real faith. It is taking God at His word. We trust Him because we don't understand everything He understands and what He is doing, so we follow Him one step at a time.

Also, we should believe God so much that we know He can work a miracle to solve our problem or to accomplish what He sends us to do. God will provide what we need in His way. He wants to see us believe Him. He loves to see our faith. That is why He sends times of testing. They strengthen us, and they give us a way to show Him our faith.
