The Infinite Value of Knowing Christ

Some things are very valuable, while others are not worth very much at all. We often hear of the value gold. People buy it and save it to try to make their future financially secure. However, there is no guarantee that will work. There is only one thing of infinite value upon which we can count.

Paul gave his testimony to the believers at Philippi and to us. (Philippians 3:8) He said that everything else was worthless to him when compared to the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord. For Christ's sake, Paul had discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that he could gain Christ. That is what we all need to do.

When we come to know that Christ is Lord of all, and He died and rose again to be our Savior from our sins, we have a decision to make. He is either Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all. We have to decide to put everything else aside and trust Jesus as Lord in all we do. Then, we gain Christ.

Nothing else can be worth putting our trust in. After all, knowing Christ brings us salvation, and then, we walk with Him by faith every day for eternity. He is there to supply what we need by His mighty power, so we need not depend on anyone or anything else forever.
