Living a Life of Love
Love should be the main characteristic of the life of every Christian. When others think of us, they should think of the quality of our love. They should have no doubt that we love them, not only because of what we say, but because we have done things for them which show our love for them.
This was Paul's admonition to the early church, and it goes for us today. (Ephesians 5:2) Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. That should be our goal each day.
Of course, we have love in our hearts for those who are dear to us. We love our family and friends. However, are we living a life "filled with love?" Is our love overflowing on everyone we meet and even on our enemies? That is how Jesus lived, and He is our example.
Jesus loved everyone so much that He gave His life as a sacrifice for us. He died so we can have eternal life. He did this for those who hated Him, for those who nailed Him to the cross. His great acts of love were a pleasing sacrifice to God, like a lovely aroma. When we make sacrifices to love others, God is very pleased with our love, too. Let's live that way every day.
