God's Guarantee

 A lot of times when I buy something that should last, I look for the guarantee. In some cases I might even pay more to get an extended warranty on it in case it breaks down too soon. In this world there are very few things that come with an iron clad guarantee to still be working until after our time on earth is done.

God's guarantee is so much better than earthly ones, and He never breaks His Word to us. (Ephesians 1:14) The Spirit is God's guarantee that He will give us the inheritance He promised and that He has purchased us to be His own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him. Now that is a sure guarantee!

The Holy Spirit is given to us to live in us when we trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He is there to guide us and empower us to do God's will. However, He is also the way we know we are going to heaven. Our assurance of eternal life with the Lord comes from knowing He lives in us by seeing the things only He can do in us and through us.

Also, He shows us that we belong to the Lord. He shows us that Christ's payment for our sins was accepted by God, so we are God's own people. When we realize how secure we are in the Lord, we give all of the praise and glory to God, because we realize it was all by His grace, not by our works.
