Practicing Sorcery

We live in a world where people practice many types of sorcery. There are those who are proud to be witches and warlocks. They cast spells on others by the power of Satan, and they do all kinds of sacrifices and other religious rituals. All of these practices are forbidden by the Lord, because they are directly opposite of what He wants us to do.

When Paul preached in Ephesus, the power of the Lord was evident in the miracles he performed. Many people got saved by trusting Christ as Lord and Savior. (Acts 19:19) A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them in a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. I am afraid this is what needs to happen today, too.

There are some Christians who practice sorcery in various ways, whether they know what they are doing or not. They go by what their horoscope says, which is the way Satan throws them off. They are drawn to wearing back and wearing clothes with skulls and skeletons, which is demonic. This is showing Satan's emphasis on the death and dying.

Also, Christians read books that have to do with witchcraft and incantations. When we do these things we are opening our hearts and minds up to the influence of Satan, which is forbidden by the Bible. Satan has no power over us, unless we give place to Him, and do what others are doing. We don't need to focus on him, but on the Lord, so we are full of the Spirit and God's Word, instead of the things of the devil.
