The Lord Surrounds His People

 As believers, we should know that we are never alone. We should be assured that our God is with us. He is surrounding us with His love and power. He is there to protect us from anything that will harm us. Yes, He allows trials to come, but only those which we can handle in His power.

The psalmist proclaimed this truth for us. (Psalm 125:2) As the Jewish people ascended up the mountains to the Temple in Jerusalem, they noticed the mountains that surrounded the city. They also realized that like those mountains surrounded Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds His people, both now and forever. What a comforting reality!

Yes, we are surrounded by the forces of evil in this dark world. There are people who would hurt us. There are demons who would love to harm us or distract us from trusting the Lord. They are trying to do anything possible to defeat the Lord's people, but they will only be victorious if we give in to them.

God and His forces surround us, and they are far more powerful than the devil's forces. There are twice as many angels as demons, so it is easy for them to surround us. God is infinite and His power is beyond any other power in the universe. Satan and his demons have very limited power and knowledge. As long as we walk with the Lord and He surrounds us, we have nothing to fear.
