Living in Harmony
Isn't it pleasing to hear a song that is sung with excellent harmony? It just brings out the fullness of the melody, and it makes the song even more appealing that when just one person sings. That is how God designed our lives to be lived. We are to live in harmony with our family members and our spiritual family members.
David wrote about this in one of the psalms of ascent that the pilgrims sang as they walked up to the temple at Jerusalem. (Psalm 133:1) He noted how wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony. I believe we have all experienced this, at times, but God wants it to be that way all the time.
As family members, we are different in our personalities and our talents. We may have differing views on things, too. However, we can all learn from each other and function in love to produce a very happy family. When we relate to our family members, it should be wonderful and pleasant, not sad and filled with strife.
The same is true for our Christian brothers and sisters. We should enjoy a supernatural unity from the Holy Spirit living in us, God being our Father, and Jesus being our Lord and Savior. We should love each other, support each other, and have a sweet fellowship with each other all of the time. Then, the world will be attracted to see why we have such harmony.
