A Reason to Be Glad

What causes you to be glad? It could be something that we hear someone say, or it could be something that someone does for us. That emotion of gladness is a great blessing for us. We need as much gladness as we can get. Of course, the Lord should bring us the most gladness, and we should be glad to spend time in His presence any time.

David gave us his testimony on this issue. (Psalm 122:1) He said that he was glad when they said to him, "Let us go to the house of the Lord." That was the call to go to the temple of God. That was His house, literally, because it was His residence on earth. To go to the temple was to enter God's presence.

Today, we should be glad when it is time to have our "Unhurried time." We should rejoice that we get to enter into a time of fellowship with the Lord as we read His Word and pray. What a blessing to commune with the Lord of Lords and King of Kings! I pray that is the testimony of each of us today.

Also, we should be glad when it is time to go and worship the Lord with other believers. God promises us that when two or three are gathered together, He is in our midst. Yes, He is ready to come and meet with us, as we join together in study and worship. That should be a huge source of gladness for all of us, as believers.
