Real Safety

 As our times get more and more evil, people are constantly having to think about safety. We have home security systems with cameras and alarms. Some people have guns in which they put their trust to protect themselves. Others look to their wealth to keep them safe from all kinds of harm. However, none of these things are the source of real safety.

God's Word tells us how to have true safety. (Proverbs 18:10-11) The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe. The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense. They imagine it to be a high wall of safety. I wonder what we are trusting in for our safety today? 

God is the only Sure Protector. He doesn't keep us from having any problems when we trust Him, but if He allows a problem, He gives us the strength to endure. He is the only One who can protect us from the harm of Satan, evil people, and even diseases. The way to real safety is to run to the Lord each day and stay close to Him.

Wealth can't protect us from attacks, no matter how secure we try to make our home or business. It is certain that money can't keep us safe from serious illnesses. If we try to gain a huge amount of wealth to be safe, we are shunning the Lord and trusting in money. That never works. We are only imagining that it will be a wall to protect us. Let's all decide to trust the Lord for real safety.
