Seeing the Finger of God

God is always active around us. He is an expert at revealing Himself to each and every one of us. He speaks to our hearts through what we see with our eyes and by what happens to us in our lives. His Holy Spirit shows us that God is alive and well, and He convicts us that we need to trust Him. However, many people see the finger of God in their lives, but they fail to turn to the Lord as He desires. How can this happen? It happens because our hearts become hardened to the things of the Lord. We see this in the life of Pharaoh when the plagues were sent, and the magicians could not copy them any more. (Exodus 8:19) The magicians told Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God," but Pharaoh's heart remained hard. He wouldn't listen to them just as the Lord had predicted. I pray this will not happen to any of us.

Pharaoh was proud. He even thought of himself as a god. He wanted people to worship him. Therefore, when Moses and Aaron came to free the Hebrews, he fought back against God. When the magicians were able to copy the miracles of Moses, it caused him to harden his heart even more. Then, he saw the finger of God, but he stubbornly refused to submit to God. The same thing happens to us today. We see God in creation, but we refuse to believe in Him. We see His finger in the problems we have in our life, but we are too proud to turn to Him. We are shown that Jesus is Lord from the Word of God, the Bible, and we see the evidence that the Bible is true because of the prophecies, the archeology, and the eye witness accounts, but we still go our own way. Some people get so low, they are at the end of their rope, so to speak, but they will not trust Jesus. Please, don't be like Pharaoh. Ask God to show Himself to you again, and ask Him to soften your heart, so you can see Him clearly. Then, trust Jesus with all your heart, forsaking your way, and following Jesus as Lord of your life.
