No Situation is Hopeless with God

Hopelessness is a terrible condition. It is what causes us to be depressed. When we get depressed, we lose our energy and our initiative to get up and get things done that we need to do. Sometimes, it gets so bad that a person has to be hospitalized. We must avoid hopelessness at all costs. We do not do this by simply telling ourselves that everything is going to be alright. Satan is always stronger than our ability to will things to be done. We have to have faith in God. We must know that God is able to do whatever it takes to bring good out of any situation. Therefore, no situation is hopeless with God. Jacob found out this truth when he arrived in Egypt and was reunited with his long lost son, Joseph. (Genesis 48:11) Jacob told Joseph that he never thought he would see his face again. but God let him see Joseph and his children. Now, that is a fabulous resolution to a seemingly hopeless situation, and God can do that for any of us, if we don't give up on Him.

Just think of how dejected Jacob was when his 10 oldest sons came home with the bloody robe of their brother Joseph. He was convinced that Joseph had been devoured by a wild animal. He was his favorite son, and one of his two sons born to Rachel, whom he loved so much. For years Jacob wallowed in that depressed state, but he did not give up. When the famine came he sent his 10 sons to Egypt to buy grain, and we know the rest of the story. Finally, his sons took Jacob to Egypt to see Joseph and to live in the best part of Egypt for 17 years before his death. He not only saw Joseph, but his grandsons. What seems hopeless in your life right now? Are you down and depressed? Have you given up on God? Please, don't. Allow this account of God's power to lift you out of hopelessness, so you can live every day in faith and anticipation that God will bring good out of your situation, too. Then, watch to see what our God does.
