So That Your Way May Be Known
God desires for all of the people in the world to come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. Of course, He reveals Himself to all people by what they see in creation and by how He speaks to their hearts. Still, many people reject His revelation and worship their own gods or other people. That is why God has to take additional measures to spread the word about His way and His salvation. (Psalm 67:1-2) The psalmist told about one way that God does that. He asked God to be gracious to His people and to make His face shine upon them, so that God's way might be known on earth, and His salvation among all nations. I don't think that we consider this way of sharing the Lord as much as we should today. Let's see what we can be doing to bring the world to Christ.
As Christians, we are saved from our sins by grace, but then, God continues to be gracious to us because we are His children and His church. God causes His face to shine on us, and we are blessed in so many ways. We have the fruit of the Spirit, so that we have the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This fruit enables us to live the abundant life that is so much better than the lives of non-Christians. God also blesses us in other ways as we obey His Word, so that we see His will being worked out in our lives, and things go well for us in many ways. He does all of this so others will see His way being lived out in our lives and so they can see the results of His salvation. When they see the benefits of surrendering to Jesus as Lord, they are drawn to put their trust in Him, as well. This is why we need to give our story or our testimony to those who need the Lord. When they hear how God's grace has come upon us, their hearts will want to experience life in Christ.
