Shining Brightly in an Dark World
The Prophet Daniel gave us a lot of details about what will happen at the end of time. Some of it is hard to understand, since we are not sure which countries he is talking about. However, one thing is very clear. Things will get worse and worse as we get close to the coming of Christ. Evil rulers will arise, who will lead people astray. It will be a very dark world, because God's light will be rejected for the darkness of man's thinking. Daniel gave us encouragement about this difficult situation. (Daniel 12:3) He told us that God will cause us to shine brightly at that time if we have insight, and if we lead many to righteousness. I believe this shows us God's will for His people in our present world and going forward from here.
God gives us insight from knowing His Word and being illuminated by the Holy Spirit, so we can see the meaning of difficult things. These things are not apparent to those who do not know the Lord, because they do not have the Spirit to guide them in their thinking. Therefore, we, as believers, need to give them the right perspective on things, and when we do, we will shine forth like the brightness of the heavens. Also, we who know the Lord are the ones who can lead others to righteousness. We can lead them to salvation in Jesus, and we can lead these new believers in how to live in righteousness before God. This is an essential action in this dark world, because those who do not come to righteousness are lost forever. When we lead many to the Lord, God will make sure we shine like the stars forever. I pray this gives us all direction as to what God is looking for His children to do in these last days, and we will do it very well. The world is depending on us.
