God Protects His Children
I wonder how many times God has protected us from harm? I am sure we would be surprised to see all He has done to keep us safe in so many ways. I am afraid we tend to focus on the times that God allowed some harm to come, but He saw us through the pain. Please, I pray we will not let that make us forget His bountiful protection at other times. Daniel in the den of lions is a great example of God's protection. (Daniel 6:22) He was quick to tell king Darius that God had sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths, and he was not harmed at all. God did this because Daniel was found innocent before God and he had not committed any crimes against the king either. What a testimony for us to consider today.
Please, don't think that God won't send His angel to protect you, even today. Yes, He will. He does it all of the time. Remember Jesus saying that God could send a legion of angels to deliver Him from the Cross if He just asked for them. Then, there was Peter who was let out of prison by an angel, while he was chained to a guard. God sent His angel to Paul on the ship before it sunk, and God saved everyone on board. God still sends His angels to help us. In fact, Hebrews 13:2 tells us to be hospitable to strangers, because those people could be angels disguised so we do not recognize them as angels. However, we also have to hear what Daniel said about being found innocent before God and the king. Daniel did not deserve any punishment, since He was righteous before God and other people. We need to realize that we need to be blameless before God and others, or we will get the punishment we deserve, instead of having God's supernatural protection.
