Frustrate God's Plan?
The Lord created the world out of nothing. Before He created it, He had a plan for everything that would happen. God is never without a plan. The problem is that sometimes we do not want to follow His plan. We want to make our own plan and follow it. That never works. God's plan will not be frustrated. (Isaiah 14:27) When God decides to stretch out His hand to us, we can't turn it back. Both of these things that God showed Isaiah are very important for us to learn.
It just stands to reason that God's plan would be perfect, since God has more knowledge of everything than anyone else. Also, He has all power, so He can always carry out whatever He plans. Therefore, once He sets His plan in motion, there is no stopping it. However, the Lord's plan allows us to make choices and to decide whether we will go with His plan or not. When we exercise our choice in the wrong way and go against God's will and way, we are asking for frustration. We will be the ones who are frustrated, though, not God. When it comes to God's out stretched hand, that is His way of giving us a chance. When God has His hand extended to us, we can come to Him in confession and repentance, or we can seek His guidance. Because He decided to stretch out His hand to us, He is right there for us. The terrible thing is when God withdraws from us. Then, we can't reach Him or change His mind. Fortunately, that doesn't happen very often. This verse shows us we have a wise and compassionate God. We need to listen to His plan and take advantage of His compassion all of the time.
