God can Use Anyone
Many people seem to feel unqualified to the used by God. They would never think that God could do something great through them. That is a total lie of the devil. God can use anyone, and He often uses unlikely people to do His will. However, we have to be open and obey what He tells us to do. That is exactly what happened to king Cyrus of Persia. The Persians conquered the Babylonians, so he was able to take over all the kingdoms of the earth. In the first year of his reign Cyrus made a proclamation that the Lord, the God of heaven, had given him all the kingdoms of the earth, and He had appointed Cyrus to build a house for Him in Jerusalem of Judah. (Ezra 1:2) God can even use the pagan king to build Him a house in Jerusalem. What an amazing thought!
We do not have to know the entire Bible to be used by God. We do not have to be a strong, spiritual Christian to be used in His service. God can use unbelievers to do His will, so He certainly can use any of His children. We need to realize this truth and stop limiting God's work in us by not thinking we are worthy or able. We are able because every Christian has the Holy Spirit. We are able to surrender to the Spirit and be guided and empowered to do great things for the Lord. However, God is waiting to see if we are listening to Him. He is looking for us to have faith in His power and direction, so we can be used. The least we can do is to hear and obey, like Cyrus did. Then, God will do His work in and through us in His way.
