Throw Yourself into the Lord's Work
Many Christians are hesitant to serve the Lord in any meaningful way. We can feel we are not qualified. Sometimes, we have the feeling we are not worthy to be in His service. Other times, we fail to do His work because we do not know enough about the Bible. None of these reasons or any other reasons should keep us, as believers, from serving the Lord whole-heartedly. Paul made that very clear at the end of the resurrection chapter in his letter to the Corinthian believers. (I Corinthians 15:58) We have so much going for us that we need to stand our ground and not hold back. In fact, we should throw ourselves into the work of the Master, being confident that nothing we do for Him is a waste of time or effort.
Think about it. Knowing Christ as Lord and Savior of our life is the greatest thing that can happen to anyone. Once we know Him, we can overcome any obstacle by the power of the Holy Spirit. All the while, we have the assurance of our own resurrection and our home in heaven. Therefore, what could harm us as we pursue the ministry He has for us? The answer is nothing. However, if we fail to throw ourselves into the work of the Lord, we miss out and others miss out on God's blessings of salvation and growing in Christ. Yes, it is hard work. Yes, people can hurt us, but it is not a waste of time or effort. God will bless the work and us, as we are faithful to do His will with all of our heart and strength.
