Go After the Lost One
Jesus told many parables in His ministry, and some of them are recorded in the gospels. As we read these earthly stories with heavenly meanings, we are able to see the heart of God and know His will for us. One of the most important parables is the parable of the lost sheep. I believe the main point Jesus meant to get across is lost to many believers. (Luke 15:4) Let's consider what Jesus was trying to convey to us, so we will not fail to respond according to His will.
In this parable Jesus describes a shepherd who has 100 sheep. I would think that is a lot of sheep for one shepherd. However, if one sheep was lost, he would care enough to go find the lost one while leaving the 99 behind. This shows the priority of God for those who need to know the Lord. This vital task is worthy of any amount of energy or expense we can give. The Lord loves the whole world, which is every person in the world, so that He does not want to see any person left out of heaven. That is why in the parable, when the shepherd finds the lost sheep, he returns with the sheep on his shoulders, rejoicing that he has been found. Jesus even said that there is more joy in heaven over one lost sheep that is found than over 99 sheep that need no repentance. Therefore, we need to rejoice over all of our Christian friends and enjoy their fellowship, while setting our eyes on the one lost sheep in our life more than on them. I wonder how we are doing in this endeavor? Who is the lost one you are after now? I pray that we will have God's heart for each one and see them come home to Jesus very soon.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 16-18.
