God's Chosen People

Israel is not just like any other nation. The Jewish people are special to the Lord, because He chose them to be His people when He made the covenant with Abraham. Part of that covenant was that God would make Abraham's descendants a great nation, and those who blessed them would be blessed, and those who cursed them would be cursed. The nation of Moab felt God's anger against them in Ezekiel's day, because they said that Judah was just like the other nations. (Ezekiel 25:8,11) I pray that we will never make this mistake and suffer God's judgment.

Israel is not perfect, but God is still working through the Jewish nation to bring about His plan for the end of life as we know it upon this earth. God gave Abraham the land of Israel in a permanent covenant, and He has never changed His mind. That is why they are back in the land today, and the country is thriving. Many nations have come against Israel and the Jews, and they have seen the wrath of God against them. This is God's promise, and He is faithful to keep all of His promises. Even though many of the Jews have not trusted Jesus as their Messiah, God is calling them to come to Him. He is preparing for the time of the Tribulation when all of the Jews who are alive will turn to Christ. They will be protected by God and delivered when the huge army of the antichrist marches against them. We do well to heed this truth and treat the Jews as God's chosen people.
