God's Infinite Understanding
It is very difficult for us to understand anything being infinite. Infinite means that something goes on forever; it has no end. Since everything we know here on earth has an end, we have a hard time knowing that anything does not have an end. As believers, we have faith in God's Word when it tells us that heaven is infinite. However, that is still very amazing to us. Like the hymn says, "When we've been there ten thousand years, we have no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun." That is so wonderful! The psalmist tells us something else that is infinite. God's understanding is infinite. (Psalm 147:4,5) There is no end to what He understands and how He understands it. Since some things are changing all around Him, He never fails to understand each new thing or situation completely. The psalmist gives us an example of this infinite understanding. God counts the stars, and He has given each one of them a name. People who count the stars say it is impossible to put a number on them. However, God has numbered them and named them, since His understanding is infinite. Let's think about what this means for us.
A lot of us spend a lot of time trying to figure things out with our limited understanding. We try to logically explain everything, even if it is something that is beyond our ability to comprehend. We pour over every life situation, so we can know exactly what to do. Yet, most of the time our limited understanding fails to bring us to the right conclusion, no matter how much time we think about it or what else we do. Therefore, should we not go to God and to His Word for our understanding about everything. The Bible was given to shed light on all of the things we need to know to live the Christian life and honor the Lord. Then, believers have the Spirit to lead us into "all truth," so we can understand the other things which we encounter. Therefore, if we search God's Word and we search the heart of God, we can come to have the correct understanding of anything. He will not fail to lead us, if we are tuned to Him, and we do not lean on our own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 149-150 and Proverbs 1-2.
