My Whole Source of Joy
Joy is much different from happiness. Joy is so much better than happiness that there is no comparison between the two. Happiness is simply a fleeting feeling because of some experience in our life. Joy is an abiding peace and sense of well-being because of our relationship with the Lord Jesus and the fruit of the Spirit in our life. The psalmist knew the whole source of this joy, and so can we. (Psalm 87:7) I pray we will check out the joy in our lives and go straight to the Whole Source for more joy.
We can't get joy from other people. We can't get joy from our job. There is no experience that can bring us joy. However, when we have joy our relationships are much better, our job will go much better, and our experiences will be better. Joy makes all of life better. The way to have joy is to trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. At that moment the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. As we allow the Spirit to control and direct our life, He begins to produce His fruit in us. Joy is an aspect of that fruit. The more we are filled with the Spirit and walk in the Spirit, the more joy we will have. Therefore, if you have a lack of joy, you must look to the Lord. He is the Whole Source of joy. I pray that each of us will have lives that are full of joy. That is what Jesus wants for us, too, so it is completely possible.(John 15:11)

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 89-92.
