Walk In Him
Many believers do not know how to grow in the Lord. This is a huge problem. I referred to this the other day, as we were going through Galatians. Many think that they grow by doing good works. That is not the case. We are to grow by doing what we did to receive Him as our Lord and Savior. (Colossians 2:6,7) How did that happen? We turned from our sins, put our faith in Jesus, who died and rose again to save us, and surrendered to Him as Lord. It was all by grace through faith. Therefore, to grow in Him we must live every day by grace through faith in Him, and we do this as we walk in Him.
To walk in Him is to live in Him. He becomes our life, not just something we add to our life. We focus on Him, not on other things. We sink our spiritual roots deep into the soil of who He is, and He builds us up. We keep walking in Him, doing what He shows us to do, since He is our Lord, and repenting of sins, as the Spirit prompts us. The result is to become established in the faith. We come to know what we believe and why we believe it, as we talk with Him, read the Word, and listen for the Spirit to teach us and remind us of what we have learned already. Finally, we do all of this with an abundance of thanksgiving for Jesus and for all He means to us, as He enriches our lives forever.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Colossians 3-4 and I Thessalonians 1-2.
