Sanctified by Faith In Jesus

Paul was given a huge task by the Lord. He was sent to the Gentiles to open their eyes to the truths of God. The Lord promised to protect Him from the Jews and the Gentiles as he fulfilled this grand assignment. The Lord Jesus did this because of His heart for all people. He wants everyone to be turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. It is His desire that all would be forgiven of their sins and have a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Him. (Acts 26:17,18) I must say that Paul did a wonderful job in completing his God-given assignment. I wonder why we are having so much trouble doing the same thing in our day?

Darkness engulfs this world in which we live. Darkness is caused by the absence of the light of the Lord and His Word. Jesus told us that we are the light of the world, so if this world is to be turned form the darkness, it will be because we shine His light into our world each day. All people are under the power of Satan from birth, because of the sin of Adam. We are born with a sinful nature that has been passed down to us. Then, we choose to sin ourselves, so that we are separated form God and belong to Satan. Once we trust Christ by faith, we are set free from the power of Satan, and we are under the power of God. We are forgiven of our sins, and we are sanctified. The word sanctified means to be "set apart." Those who know Christ are set apart from darkness, the power of Satan, and our sins, so that we are set apart to walk in the light, and enjoy the power of God, as well as forgiveness. It is a glorious life. However, we must not keep it to ourselves, but show forth the heart of God from our hearts for every person in this world to be sanctified by faith in Jesus.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 27-28 and Romans 1-2.
