Equipped by God for His Service

Micah was a prophet called by God to declare the sins of His people, so they might repent. God gave him this assignment. It was a difficult and unpopular role to play for the Lord. However, God did not send Micah without equipping him for this service. He equipped him very well. (Micah 3:8) Now, all believers have a ministry to complete, and God equips us in much the same way He equipped Micah. We can learn from his testimony.

Micah knew he was filled with power to do his ministry. It was God's power, not his own power. That is the only way we can do a God sized task. The power came from the Holy Spirit who was in him. The Spirit always supplies us with the power and other things we need to do God's will. Therefore, we never lack what is needed to accomplish God's will for us. Then, he was filled with justice and might. Micah knew what was right and wrong, because God gave him that insight. We must not judge things on our own, but by God's justice, so we do not mislead people in any way. All of this is ours because God fully equips His own for His service.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Micah 4-6.
