Another Reason to Praise the Lord

There are so many promises in the Bible. Each one gives us a reason to praise the Lord. Nahum gave us a good promise to remember, and to use in our praise for the Lord. (Nahum 1:7) He reminded us of the goodness of God. Then, He assured us that God is a stronghold in the day of trouble. However, the last part is the best. He knows those who take refuge in Him. Can you praise the Lord with me for this promise.

God is truly good. There is no darkness or sin in Him at all. In a day when there is so much that is bad and sinful around us, we need to rejoice that we know the One who is totally good. He is a stronghold for the day of trouble. He is available for us to run to for safety from Satan and his forces of evil. We must never lose sight of the Lord as our stronghold, because we need to run to Him often. Then, we all should rejoice not just that we know Him, but He knows us. He has a close relationship with those who take their refuge in Him. He delights to help us and give us His aid, but we have to choose to run to Him, not to try to do things ourselves. What a wonderful God we serve! He is worthy of all praise.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Nahum 3 and Habakkuk 1-3.
