Absolute, Eternal Truth
God's Word is is always true. It is truth, and it lasts forever. That makes it absolute truth for every person of all times. The psalmist knew this, and so should we. (Psalm 119:160) When God says something, we can always depend upon it corresponding with reality. In other words He is never mistaken about anything in history, science, philosophy, psychology, or any other subject. Therefore, His Word is correct in all it communicates to us. Let me explain how this happened.
God is the Creator of all things. He was before all things, and it was His power and wisdom that enabled Him to fashion the universe and all that is in it. There is simply no other explanation. Intelligence and design are always created by intelligence, not an explosion of matter. Therefore, God is truth, and He declared the truth to us by inspiring men to write down His Word by the Holy Spirit. He knew exactly how to do that, so that no errors would occur in the original writings. That is why we can count on each word to be without error, as we understand and translate the Hebrew and Greek correctly. Also, He preserves His Word for all people to benefit from. His Word will never pass away. All of this is why we need to value the Word of God, learn it, and live by it, if we desire to please Him and to be like Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 120-122.
