Lead Me, Lord
The best way for any one of us to live is to be led by God. If we try to live life on our own, we fail. This is especially true for believers. If we are to accomplish God's will for our lives and glorify Him, we have to be led by the Lord each day. So, what do we do to be led by God? David gave us a great synopsis of the process. (Psalm 25:4,5} Let's see what we can learn from these two verses.
We must begin by asking God to show us His ways and His paths. This is much better than simply asking God what to do for each decision. Once we hear from God, and He shows us how He does things and the path He takes, we can apply those ways and paths in our own lives. We should not stop praying for His guidance at any point, but knowing His ways and paths put us at a great advantage. Then, we need to pray that God would teach us His truth. We can know that He will teach us, because He saved us, and He is our Lord. Therefore, even when we know His ways and paths, we must not stop learning His truth. That way we can see falsehood and things that would take us from the right way. Finally, we must wait on the Lord all day long. We must expect to hear from Him as we pray. We must be waiting on His word to us, before we proceed on His path and in His truth. That way, we act in just the right timing. When we have all three of these things in our life, we will be allowing God to lead us well.
