A Great Question to Ask God
Job was convinced that his suffering was not caused by his sins, as his friends were telling him. He was right, too. That is why he wanted to talk to God about his situation. He wanted to present his case to God, and he was sure he would be found correct. However, in the spirit of humility he was willing to ask God a very good question. (Job 13:23) This is a great question for all of us to ask God on a regular basis.
Job wanted God to show him how many iniquities he had committed and how many sins were in his life. I am convinced that is one of the best questions we can ask God, especially after we come to know Christ. Sin separates us from God. It is the reason we need Christ's salvation in the first place. If you are not a believer, I would challenge you to ask God this question. Believe me, He will show you, because He loves you, and He wants you to be delivered from all of them. Then, if you know Christ, remember you can still be separated from the Lord by your sins, even though you are saved. Sin after salvation harms our relationship with Christ. It does not negate our salvation. However, your life will be very miserable, if you do not confess your sins and have Jesus cleanse them from between you and Him. (I John 1:9) The greatest condition for any person is to be saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and to be cleansed of all of our sins, as we walk with Him in perfect unity. I pray all of us will know that peace and joy.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 15-18.
