Let Us Exalt the Living God
We serve a living God! He deserves to be exalted in all we do and in all we say. David knew that so well, and he did it as well as anyone in his many songs. (II Samuel 22:47) There are so many reasons to praise Him and to bless His holy name. He is the Rock, the Rock of our salvation. That is what we celebrate at Easter and all year long.
David seemed to have some special insights into the nature of God. He even talked about "My Lord" in a way that pointed to Jesus. This verse could be used as a verse at Easter. Jesus lives! He is a risen Savior. He is our Rock, because He arose, we have a solid foundation of proof that He is our Lord, who defeated Satan, sin, and death. He is due all of our praise, and we should exalt Him always. He is the Rock of our salvation, because He alone died for our sins and rose again to prove His claim that He is God.
Tomorrow, evening at 8 pm we will gather at our worship center to focus on Jesus and the cross. I hope you will join us if you are in our area, so we can exalt Jesus, and so we can prepare our hearts to fully appreciate the resurrection of Jesus on Sunday.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Kings 1-4.
